12/10/11, Philadelphia – Project Twenty1 Films screen at FILMPROV Philly Style
November 27, 2011 in events by admin
FILMPROV is what happens when you take local, independent short films and ask experienced improv performers to create on-the-spot “DVD Bonus Features” like alternate endings, never-before-seen scenes and more!
The company has partnered with Project Twenty1, a non-profit Philadelphia indie film incubator, to identify the short films that will screen during the Saturday performance. ”So far, Philadelphia has lived up to its name,” says Pamela Nash, the show’s creator. ”I’ve had some great contacts with the venue and Project Twenty1′s involvement really makes this a local show. Instead of bringing films from DC, we will screen three films by Philadelphia filmmakers.”
Nash says that the goal of bringing FILMPROV to Philadelphia is to provide a new outlet for improvisers, and encourage collaboration between independent theater and film, “Too many times, there are these great short films, and they’re sent out to festivals but not screened locally,” says Nash.
