Writer/Director Bajir Cannon was born in small-town Ohio and raised in a Sufi community outside Philadelphia. He wrote and directed love/sad–an original play that played for an extended, sold-out run Off-Broadway in January 2003–earning rave reviews and featured in a broadcast for National Public Radio. He wrote and directed “The Distance Between the Apple and the Tree,” which won, among others, the prize for Best Feature in 2009’s Philadelphia Filmathon. Bajir also built Movie-making programs for children in New York City and New Jersey. A writer, director, former Kindergarten teacher, and third-generation puppeteer, Bajir lives in Brooklyn.
