Just thought we’d share a few quick updates and pieces of exciting news for those of you diligent enough to sign up for our newsletter list or check our myspace. The most important among them is first on our newsletter: The new, final, absolute Last Chance Deadline for the Film-A-Thon! Read more below…
FILM-A-THON LAST CHANCE DEADLINE – NOVEMBER 15th
The Late Entry Deadline has now passed for the Project Twenty1 Film-A-Thon. We have received a ton of truly outstanding shorts and features from all over the U.S. and Canada, ranging from the terrifying to the hilarious, the absurd and abstract to the ultra-realistic, and our screeners have already expressed difficulty at the need to cut some of them to get us down to the best 21. But on the plus side, this also means that all in attendance on January 5th will be in for one heck of a Festival!
We’ve also gotten feedback from people who are SO close to finishing their films, but were for one reason or another unable to meet our Late Deadline. So, because we pride ourselves on being “Not Just A Film Festival,” we are actually listening to what our filmmakers and audience members want. Now, as one last chance to all you filmmakers and animators out there, we will be accepting submissions in our Last Chance Deadline from now through Thursday, November 15th! We need time to prepare screening materials and alert filmmakers who have been accepted, so this is the LATEST we can possibly accept your submissions. But if you are one of the many out there who is just now completing your opus, or who maybe just wasn’t able to make it to the post office on time on the 1st after a wild night of Trick-or-Treating, this is your absolute last chance!
In fairness to those who got them to us in the Late Deadline and before, the Entry Fee will now be $55 rather than $45 (we like to reward people for being punctual). But all the same, since we always try to emphasize quality over speed, we’d hate to exclude some of your films simply on the basis of time. So hurry and get us your films! Prizes, free passes, exposure to a wide audience – what more could you ask for? After November 15th, our doors will be closed!
For comparison sake, the submission dates and entry fees are as follows:
Early Deadline: Postmarked by October 1st – $21 (passed)
Standard Deadline: Postmarked by October 15th – $35 (passed)
Late Deadline: Postmarked by November 1st – $45 (passed)
LAST CHANCE DEADLINE: Postmarked by November 15th – $55

PROJECT TWENTY1 IN 2008
Thanks to all of you for your continued support! We have plenty of other exciting developments living up for 2008, but we don’t want to announce anything too soon.
